Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mynt Pte Ltd ("Mynt", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use Canopy, our school parent verification and communication portal. Canopy is operated by Mynt on behalf of the schools that license it from us.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Your school is the controller of personal information about you and your children. Mynt acts as a data processor on behalf of the school. If you have questions about how your school uses Canopy, please contact your school directly. For technical or platform-level questions, contact Mynt at orion@mynt.sg.

2. What information we collect

• Account information: your name, phone number, email address (if provided), profile photo, role at the school (parent, staff, volunteer, etc.), and the org(s) you belong to.
• Children's information: first name, date of birth, class/level, and enrolment details that your school records about your children.
• Communication content: messages you send and receive through Canopy (direct messages, group chats, announcements, broadcasts), photos and documents you upload, and reactions you add.
• Linked-service identifiers: WhatsApp identifiers that you opt into linking, used to deliver notifications outside the app.
• Activity logs: sign-in events, scan logs (where applicable), attendance check-ins, payment and invoice activity.
• Device tokens: push notification tokens issued by Apple or Google when you install the Canopy mobile app and grant notification permission.

3. How we use information

• To operate the portal — sign you in, show you announcements, route messages, generate attendance/enrolment records.
• To deliver notifications you have asked for, through the channels you have linked (push, WhatsApp).
• To prevent abuse, secure accounts, and comply with legal obligations.
• We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

4. Where information is stored

Personal information is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in Singapore (region ap-southeast-1). Access is controlled by row-level security policies that scope every read and write to the org you belong to. Mynt staff access production data only when necessary for support, debugging, or maintaining the service.

5. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and your child is enrolled at the school using Canopy. Your school decides retention timelines after a child leaves; on request, we will delete your account and its content subject to the school's record-keeping requirements.

6. Your rights

• Access & correction: view and edit your profile from the Profile tab; ask your school to update children's records they manage.
• Deletion: request account deletion by contacting your school administrator or emailing orion@mynt.sg.
• Withdraw consent: unlink WhatsApp at any time from your Profile settings; revoke push permission in your device's Settings app.

7. Children's data

Children's information is provided and managed by their school and their parents. Canopy is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you through Canopy and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Canopy after the change indicates acceptance.
